Oslo,(KEA) 21 October, 2010: Kashmir European Alliance has arranged a protest demonstration outside Norwegian Parliament on 21 October to protest against Indian brutal rule and human rights violations by Indian forces in Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
Barrister Sultan Mahmood Choudry former prime minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir is especially visited Norway to join the protest demonstration.
Demonstration was attended by a large number of people and they raised anti-India slogans outside the Norwegian Parliament.
Chairman of Kashmir European Alliance Sardar Shabbir Ahamed Khan led the demonstration.
Those who addressed the demonstration were included Chief Coordinator of Kashmir European Alliance Choudry Mukhtar Ahamed, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Choudry former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Ms. Sanwar Mukhtar Choudry, Sardar Ashfaq Ahamed, Member Norwegian Parliament Mr. Peter Gitmark and President of Kashmir European Alliance Sardar Pervez Mehmood.
The speakers demanded to take urgent steps to resolve this long-standing dispute in accordance with the wishes of the people of Kashmir as envisaged in the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The speakers further appealed to United Nations to create a conducive atmosphere for the Implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions. Alternatively, both India and Pakistan must be persuaded to initiate a tripartite negotiations between all parties concerned – India, Pakistan and the leadership of the people of Jammu & Kashmir to set a stage for the final settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
The speakers expressed grave concern over the magnitude of violence unleashed by the military forces against protesters, the most poignant aspect of the situation is the acute suffering of the whole population caused by the frequent curfews, disregard of normal life, arrests, detentions and sometimes disappearances of innocent civilians by the authorities. This is a situation without precedent in the south Asian subcontinent and with few parallels in the world today, they maintained.
The speakers further emphasized that the peaceful movement in Kashmir needs to be strengthened. The called for a just and durable settlement of the dispute in accordance with the will and aspirations of the people and in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. |
