Oslo, (KEA), 5 Feb 2011: President of Kashmir European Alliance Engineer Pervez Mehmood in a press statement issued on the occasion of solidarity day, has appealed to EU and UN to intervene and press India to stop its genocide compaign in Indian Held Kashmir.
Engineer Pervez Mehmood reminds about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which was adobted and proclaimed on December 10, 1948 by the General Assembly of the United Nations.
The UDHR states that human rights are inherent to all and the concern of the whole of the international community. Human rights are not only a common inheritance of universal values that transcend cultures and traditions, but are quintessentially local values and nationally-owned commitments grounded in international treaties and national constitutions and laws. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights continues to affirm the inherent human dignity and worth of every person in the world, without distinction of any kind.
Engineer Pervez said that United Nations must see into resolution # 47 of the Security Council which was adopted on April 21, 1948 and which states that the future of Jammu & Kashmir must be ascertained in accordance with the wishes and the will of the people.
All civilized nations should step forward to boost their compaign and press United Nations Security Council to interfere, either by passing a resolution on Kashmir again or to go for economic sanctions against India, Alternativley, democratic nations should fascilitate tri-patriate talks betweedn India, Pakistan and Kashmiri leadership to reach a solution that could end the sufferings of decades in Indian Jammu & Kashmir.
Engineer Pervez Mehmood said that mainstream policy pattern of western world is often taken as granted without much critics and resistance from general population, as the responsibilities of key policy decisions rests with diplomats, politicians and other professionals concerned. But this does not give a safegaurd against wrong policies and decisions.
Can we give a verdict that all the western and NATO priorities and policies during the recent years been best to their nature? Not at all.....NATO, EU, and United Nation need to re-analyse their approach towards the global issues including Kashmir.
The taxpayers of Europe and America has paid a tremendous amount on war in Iraq and Afghanistan without any substantial acheivement and has thrown rest of the world in economic deficit. He maintained. |
