The 5th Global Discourse on Kashmir (GDK 2011) started in European Parliament in Brussels on 3rd of May with the welcome address of James Elles, Chairman All Party Group for Kashmir in EU Parliament. |

A large number of diplomats and experts from across the globe along with a number of members of the European Parliament participated in the Discourse.
The prominent figures who participated in the Discourse were included among Ambassador Abdulla Alim, special representative
of OIC on Kashmir, Tijis Berman Chairman Afghanistan delegation, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Chairman Hurriyat Conference, Mrs. Sherry Rehman member of the Pakistan parliamentary committee on national security, former foreign minister of Pakistan Mr Shah Mahmood Querishi, Jaen Lambert Chairman South Asian delegation, Josef Janning, Director of Studies, European Policy Center, Dr Dennis MacShane MP (UK) and Prof Nazir Ahmad Shawl, Chairman Justice Foundation Kashmir Centre London, Ivo Vagjl, MEP Committee on Foreign Affairs, Moulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, Chairman Pakistan Parliamentary Kashmir Committee, Dr Udit Raj, National President Indian Justice Party, Mohsin Irfan Choudry Secretary General Kashmir European Alliance.
The main purpose of the Global Discourse on Kashmir, since its first meeting in 2004, according to APGK chairman James Elles, has been to encourage the informal dialogue process between the governments of India, Pakistan and representatives of the people of Kashmir.
Secretary General of Kashmir European Alliance Mr. Mohsin Irfan Choudry met with the Hurriyat Chief Mir Waiz Omar Farooq and assured him the full support of Kashmir European Alliance in all efforts to bring Kashmir issue up in all forums across Europe and rest of the World. Mr. Irfan also met to other leaders, journalists, diplomats and briefed them about efforts of Kashmir European Alliance in the said context.
Kashmir European Alliance has appreciated the hard work and great efforts of Kashmir Centre Brussels in arranging the 5th Global Discourse on Kashmir and has assured full support and coordination in all similar moves to bring the Kashmir issue alive.
