KASHMIR EUROPEAN ALLIANCE PROTESTED OUTSIDE NORWEGIAN PARLIAMENT

Oslo,(KEA) 27 October, 2011: Kashmir European Alliance protested outside Norwegian Parliament on 27 October to protest against Indian brutal rule and human rights violations by Indian forces in Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
Demonstration was attended by a large number of people and they raised anti-India slogans outside the Norwegian Parliament.

Those who addressed the demonstration were included Chief Coordinator of Kashmir European Alliance Choudry Mukhtar Ahamed, Chairman Kashmir European Alliance Sardar Shabir Ahamed,  Chief advisor Kashmir European Alliance Sardar Amir Khan, Deputy secretary General Kashmir European Alliance Choudry Qaiser Khan And Member of Norwegian Parliament Mr. Peter S Gittmark. A memorandum was handed over to Mr. Peter Gittmark which stated that;

Kashmiris living on both sides of the line of control are observing 27th October as a black day. Kashmiris living all over the world does express their solidarity with them. We Kashmiris residing in Norway have assembled outside the parliament also intending to identify ourselves with our brothers who continue to suffer atrocities at the hands of occupation forces in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. 27th October has a significance in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, it was on this day that the Indian troops forcibly occupied three fourth of the State in violation of the standstill agreement.

For the last 63 years the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been struggling for the achievement of their inalienable right of self-determination, which has been assured to them by both Pakistan and India approved by United Nations under various resolutions of Security Council. Instead of fulfilling its international obligations initiated at the behest of the then Prime Minister of India Mr Nehru in 1948, and the assurances given to the people of Jammu & Kashmir, the Indian government has used its brutal force to suppress the voice of people. The whole terrain of Kashmir has been turned into killing field and men, women and children have been killed with impunity. Arbitrary arrests, illegal detentions, custodial killings and so on.

Looting and extortions are rampant throughout the length and breadth of valley. We convey to the world in general and to the concerned quarters in particular that there is no terrorism in Kashmir. The people of Jammu Kashmir State are struggling for their inherent, internationally recognised and pledged right of self-determination using the ways and means that the UN Resolution No. 2621 of General Assembly has allowed to enthralled nations for their freedom struggle.

A continued denial of the right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people is morally unacceptable, economically unsustainable and politically inadmissible with regard to any scheme aimed at ensuring global and regional peace, stability and security.  Kashmir can never be resolved without the participation and consensus of the people of Kashmir. Contrary to prevailing mythology, Kashmir is not merely a border quarrel between India and Pakistan. Its central concern is the self-determination and human rights of the Kashmiri people that have been scorned, mocked, and trampled on for more than 6 decades.

The recent mass graves found in Indian Kashmir tells the horrendous reign of terror been unleashed by Indian Army and paramilitary troops. All those disappearances which were bounced back by local and high courts in Indian Kashmir are showing themselves buried underneath. We have heard a voice from Amnesty International, a little voice from European Parliaments and little bit from inside the Kashmir Parliament. These voices been faint and soon will die out, we afraid! This will happen because the India is stronger and influential country across the globe. India provides one of the largest bulks of the cheapest labour to glooming western Industries and multinationals. India is very attractive market and thus a strong country. The stronger enjoys privileges and relaxations no matter how serious violations and crimes they are involved with. The truth and the bitter one is that the Power dictates even in this modern democratic and civilized world order!

We are thankful to Norwegian Parliament for holding a debate on Kashmir dispute on 16 November 2010 and hope that the Norwegian Parliament will continue expressing solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and could further convey our demands to UN Security Council. The demands are as under;

a). Call upon India to end its forcible occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and also desist from use of brutal force against the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

b). Take all effective measures in giving the people of the State, the chance to exercise their right to Self determination for deciding their future as has been conceded to them by Pakistan, India and UN and approved by the United Nations Organization.

c). Withdraw all occupation forces.

d). Release all political détentes in Indian occupied Kashmir.

e). Repeal all draconian laws.
