WHO IS TERRORIST?

The concept of terrorism may itself be controversial as it is often used by state authorities to delegitimize political or other opponents, and potentially legitimize the state's own use of armed force against opponents (such use of force may itself be described as "terror" by opponents of the state)

The post world war II era is the beginning of a new phase of world order. The winners of the World War II were announced as sole rescuer to humanity. Since then, all the history writers left no stone unturned to prove that losers of World War II were real tyrants, aggressors and villain of the human history. We all believe the same. Let’s assume, if Hitler would have won the World War II. All the history narrators would have been describing the opposite what they are telling today instead. Does this show that winner or stronger one has always great edge to prove himself the saviour and torch bearer of true values and principles?

The winners of World War II were frightened by calamities and destruction of the war and thought out a genuine institution as United Nations to keep up a constant watch to avoid wars and keep a check on states to respect sovereignty and solidarity of other states. The major task of United Nations was to ensure peace around the globe.

The main organ of the United Nations is UN Security Council responsible for peace and democracy around the globe. Five permanent member countries were granted veto power.
These five member countries are the stronger ones and in a way every resolution must be approved by all these five members, no matter how crucial and of immediate nature that may be.

The world institutions got the responsibility to ensure peace and democracy but its own functionary is non-democratic. Ridiculous….. Isn’t it?

The factors those lead to World War II were to be resolved, the root causes were to be eradicated to make world peaceful. That did not happen, as we saw another cold war emerging between two superpowers. Actually war is outcome of conflict of interests and influence. Whole the world was divided into two blocks, the Western block and Russian block. Defence budgets of the countries grown so high that hunger and poverty took the charge. United Nations was helpless watching the development of most deadly weapons ever found in the history of mankind. The superpowers aggression in Vietnam, Korea and Afghanistan were most horrifying in their nature.

Russian war in Afghanistan is very significant in changing the post war political scenario of the World War II. Russia was caught up in 20 years long war in Afghanistan. This was a great opportunity for the Western block to bleed Russia enough to surrender. United States had already done its job through its intelligent agencies by bringing military into power in neighbour country Pakistan and task was to fight a proxy war for American block. Puppet military regime in Pakistan obeyed the dictation of its masters and got involved in a messy Afghan war for twenty years.
Pakistan paid a big price of 20 years long Russian war in Afghanistan. AK-47 culture brought the law and order  in Pakistan to the lowest eb ever. Million of Afghan refugees put the Pakistani economy under enorm pressure. Military dictatorship in Pakistan got the excuse to prolong its rule. Truly speaking. Afghan war crippled Pakistan through putting great pressure on its economy and by weakening the very foundation of law and order through easy access to illegal automatic weapons in the hands of youth and ordinary public.

After the Russian withdrawal in Afghanistan, world political scenario suddenly changed when Russia could not hold together and one of the post World War II superpower collapsed.
Western media which was busy day and night propagating against and spreading the fear of communism, intelligence agencies of Western block and heavy military expenditures and manpower suddenly found themselves sitting without any job left. They start thinking how to justify the spending of money on all those activities and agencies which were actually grown to their mature age during the cold war.
The hunt for another enemy started. It took some years to develop another great fear which could replace the fear of communism. Certainly, top intelligence agencies had to work hard to show it so frightening that heavy military and defence budgets and manpower working for all those cold war institutions could justify their continued existence and heavy budjett spending,

The eleventh September attack on World trade centre in New York was sophisticated and frightening enough to replace cold war fear and panic. This attack brought a sense of relief to all those intelligence agencies, military institutions and defence circles of Western block those were under enorm press from their public for their huge consumption of their national wealth,

The war against terrorism started.

The Second World War, cold war and war against terror sounds very similar in their sounds. What else is common in them? Bombings, killings and what’s not?

Who is terrorist? If we dare to say the stronger side the terrorist then we can have a problem.
Strong military with advance technology and weapons, invisible intelligence agencies behind media and other key institutions. Ohh don’t say them terrorist...........

Rather it’s safe to declare weaker side as terrorist. The kids, women, old, unarmed or semi-armed civilians.

The capitalist consumer world is pushing hard for advancement, development and consumption at any cost. Every institution is crazy to flourish at any cost. Take the example of Danish newspaper printing controversial drawings. Newspaper got publicity, earned a good deal. Then prime minister of Denmark who supported the said newspaper was taken as head of NATO. Danish newspaper and Prime Minister earned the fortune. Danish firms those suffered loss by selective boycotts were among the losers. But the harm done to peace was irreparable. World was pushed one step closer to more bloodshed and anger and frustration.

But these sides effects!  Danish editor of the newspaper and Danish prime minister were not worried about. Who else should take these worries serious then? Governments or United Nation?  Every thing which undermines peace efforts should be checked up by some one through formulating laws and regulations.

Western democracies are reluctant to make blasphemy laws on the pretext of freedom of expression. All media firms which resort to pick up controversial religious stunts to make marketing boosts are directly involved in undermining the very foundations of peace in multicultural societies. Media has very direct influence and thus a responsibility as well to safeguard the harmony in society instead of polarising and creating rifts and hatred in different religious and ethnic sections of the society. Media is working under the laws no matter how free they are. For example media firmly follow the laws about pornography and its advertisements. There are set of laws all media firms work under. In the same way laws should be formulated to discourage media firms to earn at the cost of peace, harmony and social disintegration.

The question is still there, who is terrorist?
